My 2 new babies

My new explorer and my 1953 first edition "The ascent of everest"

Thanks to all who helped me with my decision, I waited a year for this watch. Small hands or not, I absolutely love it. It'll never leave my wrist!

Great combo. Made me go on Ebay and look for the book to go with my 1953 6150 Explorer. All the first editions seemed to be far away, with a lot in Australia. Went for a 1957 edition that was in Canada, so with shipping was just over $20.

Hey Robert congrats on finding one. I was extremely lucky as I found mine on eBay for £10 a few months back. It was from an old mountaineering book shop in Wales, UK! I now plan to trek to everest base camp from lukla in early 2012. I will wait to read the book until during my trek and of course will be wearing my new explorer! Can not wait to take a wrist shot with everest in the background!
