Can someone help me change a Daytona band!?!?

Hey everyone,

So I am curious to one day change my S/S Daytona's band for a leather one. I know there are so many different watch tools out there, but I am uninformed to which ones I should use when changing a band. It would be most appreciated if someone here on TRF could assist me in finding the right tools to change a band AND how to do it. I tried doing a search on TRF, but being a semi-tech dud, I was unsuccessful.

Also does anyone know a good place(online preferably) that is selling well priced leather, cloth, etc straps??? I saw one online store but the prices were out of this world, especially for a non-authentic Rolex strap.

Thank you all for taking the time and energy to reading and (hopefully) replying to my post!!! Happy New Year, and G-d Bless!

You need a spring bar tool search youtube and you can find several how to videos to remove a band. Search remove Rolex band something should pop up.

However, I would strongly urge you to leave the SS band on the SS Daytona was made for a steel band. You will not be able to get a real Rolex clasp for leather and the one on your Daytona will not fit a strap it was made for the SS band it is not interchangeable. IMHO the whole thing will look wrong on a leather strap with buckle.

Best of luck to you it's your watch and if a strap is what works for you by all means go with it.

Thanks for the tech advice

I've seen pics and it looks pretty nice to me. Sometime's I would like wearing a black, or brown, leather strap especially on dressier days. I will be searching now on TRF and youtube.

Still open to find out where to buy well priced straps!!!

You may have seen the WG Daytona it comes on a strap. The WG is not as shinny as the SS and works better on a strap.

Here is a photo of my WG Daytona.

Yeah, sorry I don't know where you could get a strap for it.

Awesome watch! And that is a possibility. Still think it would be a nice option...
