Vintage Rolex Gold Watch 6567
I have this Rolex watch. My father purchased it new between 1950 and 1955. It has a reference number of 6567 and is part gold / part stainless. It has been in storage for 30 years and runs smoothly. Any idea as to value. Most preowned rolex watches are valued at $1500 to $2500. Is this mainstream for this watch or based on the reference number is it more valuable. I did a search and found one other rolex with same reference number priced at $24K which was all gold but most all gold preowned are priced at $5000 to $8000. Thank to all you knowledgible rolex people.

So much of the value of vintage Rolex depends on the originality of the dial, and condition. It would be foolhardy for any of us to venture a guess for you. As you see, values can be all over the map. The one you see for 24K is solid pink gold, has an excellent original dial with depth rating, and original solid gold riveted stretch bracelet; even as such it's probably considerably overvalued by that retailer by 50-100% IMO.
Ref. 6567 has the cal. 1030 movement, and yours likely dates from the later '50s. Anyway, high resolution photos would help, for a start. You can always have it appraised (but typical appraisals should also be taken with a grain of salt).

I just inspected a Ref 6565 that had been restamped inside the caseback as a 6567. In 14K yellow gold, decent condition on a leather strap. Only reason why I didn't purchase it was the case had been polished between the lugs and they removed all of the serial & reference numbers. Under my high-powered loupe I was able to make out the top of the serial, but still turned it down. It was a 1947 model. After reviewing the auction prices on this particular model in 14k, I wouldn't expect anything over $2500. The 18K have sold for me.
