My Grandfather's Watch

Hi, below are poor pictures of my grandfather's Rolex which has been passed down to me. I have had a trusted watchmaker service it recently. The crown, strap and crystal have been replaced but the rest is original. It is a manual wind and keeps very good time. The watchmaker confirmed it was a 9k Rolex with correct movement. I understand it hails from the 1940's but don't have much more information about it. I have scoured the net and The Best of Times and believe it is a Rolex precision.

Not sure if anyone can add anything (Need to buy an SLR and follow Paddi's photography advice) but any additional info would be appreciated.
