Nothing quite like a beautiful gilt dial....

Nothing quite like a beautiful gilt dial!! I just got her back fresh and serviced from the Bob Ridley Spa!! Oh how she was missed--although her siblings got more wrist time!! Just took off original 7206 rivet and put on a brand new 93150 bracelet. Thanks Bob and Watchmakers International!!! You are the best!!

Gorgeous! I cannot figure out why Rolex stopped producing such dials after 1966 or so.

SF,
Looks good.
Looks like you got a new crown and tube. Got a list of what was done?
What year does your watch date. Any more pics of the 1560 cal?
thanks

That´s a beauty Connor!!
Fantastic restoration work too.
I´d love to see it with a riveted Oyster bracelet!
Yes, I know they are weaker than more modern versions, but they have a so lovely look!
Enjoy it in good health!
Kind regards, Abel.

i apologize for my ignorance but what exactly is a gilt dial.....does it have to do with the gold markers?

Gilt--use of gold lettering on dial. While most use gold in defining gilt--it can actually be silver a well. So--really it is the use of precious metals in lettering on vintage dials.
