Question about early GMT ("Pan Am") History

Good day,

I would like to know which bracelet was fitted to the early "Pan Am"-style GMT Masters. I have seen photos of GMTs for sale with Jubilee bracelets and others with Oyster bracelets... I'm just wondering which of the two (if, indeed, either!) was more likely to be the "pilots" watch.

I would really like to own a "Pepsi" GMT Master and think I prefer the Jubilee bracelet... wondering if I'm about the only one!

The GMT originally came with the Oyster bracelet, but it has been available with a Jubilee bracelet for 40 years also.........

While I prefer the oyster on most Subs and GMTs, I do like the Jubilee on the SS Pepsi. Not sure what it is but it just looks good..

So, it's not "just me!" Good!

I own a really gorgeous 'nipple dial root beer' YG/SS GMT Master from the early 80s and an F-series Sea Dweller... I'm thinking that this just might be the year for a 'Pepsi!' After I've been around here long enough, I will attempt to sell my SS (non-date) Omega Constellation to help fund the new 'quest!'

I also think the Pepsi goes best with the Jubilee as well. Something about that combo just looks right to me.

I would like to buy one even if the price was equivilent to today's dollars - Rolex hasn't been shy about jacking up the price.

$240.00 in 1958 had the same buying power as $1,824.92 in 2010.

$600.00 in 1958 had the same buying power as $4,562.30 in 2010.

Annual inflation over this period was 3.98%.

A SS GMT is now over $7000 and an 18k GMT is up around $30k.

Bet they had an awesome glow in the dark bezel and the owners wrist probably had a good glow also.
