Finally got a pic of the crown in the crystal

Nikon d300 with a 60mm nikon macro lens. The d300 is not the key, the lens is the key. I shined a flashlight from 12:00 to 6:00. Aperature wide open and ASA speed high maximize shutter speed since this was handheld. A tripod would make it easier. then I put the camera in manual focus mode, put the focus distance as close as possible, and then looked through the viewfinder and moved in towards the watch until the crown was in focus. Then I cropped the photos to what you see here. I just realized that I could probably get it bigger because I actually had the resolution turned down. Maybe I'll try again sometime.
Lens is the key. Tough to get this with a regular lens. |
