My Monster may have died...

...but it doesn't mean I've gone off Seikos! So much so, my brand new one arrived today! I've gone for the Monster's little brother, the so-called Mini Monster, or officially, the Seiko 5 Diver's watch, ref. SNZF49J1. Gone for an orange one, this time, and it looks great, really fun. Fit and finish is impressive, although the bracelet, which looks deceptively similar to the full-fat Monster's, seems to be a little lighter, and lacks a diver's extension link. However, this also has a display case back, which is a nice touch, and features the 7S36 movement inside

I also picked up a 16 piece watchmakers toolkit (cost me £3.50 plus P&P, bargain!), which meant the bracelet was a doddle to resize. Overall, I'm smiling like the Cheshire Cat at the moment!

Here's a (frankly awful) picture from my Blackberry, I can't find the cable for my good camera at the moment

Congratulations Chris!!

I very nearly bought one of those myself (simply because of the display back) but opted for the 'old faithful' instead.

Hope you'll be very happy together mate......

Spot on, Dan. Just a combination of a rubbish camera and a rubbish angle Trust me, it looks better on my wrist in the flesh, I really need to find my transfer cable for my camera

I almost bought it two years ago, when I go for another example of Seiko`s 5 sports range...
It looks great, display case back is really cool feature and it`s movement (7s36) is newer (I`m not saying better, they`re basically the same) than the one in real Monster (legendary 7s26).
Congrats!

Yes, the 7S36 has a couple more jewels than the 7S26, if I'm not mistaken, although how much of a difference they'll make, I honestly don't know! Still, it's great to get a Seiko diver back on my wrist
