Help and advice desperately needed, before a purchase re: dial markers.

Hi there.. hope you're all well, I haven't posted for a while, but I need some advice for a friend before they take the plunge on a 14060 that they have lined up (not an 14060M by the way)!

The Sub involved is a Transitional A serial from '99-'01.

It has just 'SWISS' on the dial at 6, which they believe to be correct as this is when they changed to Luminova.

But.. the one they are ready to pay for.. pictured here.. has 'SWISS' sat above 3 shortened markers. 29, 30 and 31:

Whereas all the other A serials they've seen have had just 1 shortened marker... like this:

I hope you can see the difference between the two above images.

So is the one she is ready to pay for.. the top one.. 'right?'

Were both versions released (different dial manufacturers by chance?) or is the above one a service dial... or even worse... a fake??

Or do you think that they are the same, and the second one is a crappy pic from a silly angle??

All help and advice you can pin on here would be mostly appreciated.. I am sure this is being asked at the right place.

Thanks in anticipation.

Greg.

Also... the "Rolex" at the top of dial is positioned differently across the 2 watches.

See one is more directly over the "Y" of "Oyster" .

Many thanks.

the only thing i can possibly think of is,and please knock me down in flames if necessary,
when it had Swiss T<25 on the dial i am sure that all three lines were shorter, so maybe this dial was originally for Tritium and then used for luminova?
But then again i have seen tritium and luminova ones with all 5 lines shorter aswell i think? safe to say there are variations.

Not conclusive but my 2cents
and good luck

Dials and fonts have always varied with various Rolex models..

If I had to guess, I would say it may be a service replacement.. Go in the closet and see if the insert it tritium..

Thanks for the contributions peeps..

She's decided to avoid the purchase, there's no point in having any element of doubt.. when you're buying a watch the deed needs to feel good..

Very much appreciated all round.. by all.
