16710 Bezel Question

Hi there.

Just a quick question about the GMT Master ii 16710 bezel. Are all of them bi directional rotating to are some uni directional? Asking as I saw one that a friend of mine has and it only turned one way like the bezel on a sub. I am pretty sure his watch is genuine but got me thinking.

All GMTs from the first reference to the last are bi-directional. Early references used a friction fit while the 16760 debuted the 120 click ratching system. Not untill the IIc did we see 24 clicks.

Thanks for the info. I guess my friends watch is either not real or has been modified in some way with a sub bezel (if thats even possible).

Yes that is possible. It maybe a pin inside the rotational system that came from a sub.
