~ 1967 1603 Datejust
Just got my 1603 back from a full service ( Tom M - Crown Jewelers in Clackamas, OR. ) this week and thought I would share a pic or two.
It's a 164xxx serial with a mint original "oyster-perpetual" silver/cream hyphen dial. It still has some tritium life left to it beleive it or not. Just to change it up, I had Tom install a 1601 WG bezel I had laying around. Figured I would run with that for a while and can always re-install the SS engine turned bezel later. Does anyone know when Rolex stopped using the hyphen between the Oyster & Perpetual on Datejust dials? I know it appears on some ealy GMT Dials and on 50's Datejusts. Seems hit and miss on 60's datejusts. Any insight from the vintage experts would be appreciated. Thanks, Greg |

My 1603 from 1968 has the hyphen.
I don't think there is a pattern. |
