Selling a watch

Im getting ready to make the jump to a new Rolex and need to move my Submariner. If I trade it in how much of a hit will I take on it vs selling it some place like here or on ebay? Also do you reccomend a little soap and water to clean it up a bit?
Thanks for the noob question

Ebay buyers are really cheap right now, if your Sub is fairly new with box and papers try having your AD sell it, and apply the money to the new watch.

I bought it new in 99 and its in very good shape. Had it serviced and cleaned last year. I just know with things like cars you lose alot of money by trading it in, didnt know if it was the same thing or not

I always think you're better off selling privately via one of the sales corners on watch forums. Trading to an AD is usually a big hit.

You can list it over ebay with detailed description and highly detailed pictures and surely you would get around $3000 for your watch and if you are getting more than $3K at any of your AD's go with them. Best luck for either ways.

Sell it privately first and use the trade in option as a last resort. Such a popular watch shouldnt be too hard to move!! Good luck!
