Datejust Solodite Diamond Dial?

Over the weekend I was offered an A serial Datejust in steel, on a Jubilee bracelet, with white gold fluted bezel, and what was described by the seller as a Solodite dial.

The dial was a blue mineral of some sort, fitted with diamonds, but in my searches for Rolex Solodite dials, all that came up were Date - Day Presidents and lady Datejusts.

Is it possible the dial was original, or is it more likely to be an after-market aberration?

Thank you . . .

Do you have any idea what the Sodalite dial would add to the value?

Two weeks ago I picked up an A serial Datejust just like the one I saw over the weekend, but mine has a factory Mother of Pearl Serti (Diamond) dial.

I was astounded by how much MOP and diamonds added to the base price, and I'm guessing the Sodalite would be be a pretty good bump too . . .

I have seen that dial on SS Datejusts just like the one you speak of. Go for it!

Now that I know what I'm looking at, I'll see what I can do.

The watch had no papers, but it was in the inner box with the round hang tag. Nothing else.

I was hesitant to be too agressive as I already have the same watch with the MOP Serti, with all the boxes, papers, et al . . .

I like having a more personalized Rolex. My GMT II with MOP Diamond/Sapphire dial.
