Am I the only one who thinks that a 39mm DJ & President would be a splendid idea????

I like the concept of sports watches being in the 39mm to 42mm size range and non sports watches in the 34mm to 36mm range. Makes sense to me.

I think... 41mm changes the ratio of the bezel to dial on the DJ/DD II... I tried on a 39mm Explorer the proportions were spot on... just my opinion...

Splendid indeed!

i completely agree - 39mm or 40mm would be perfect, as long as they kept the simplicity of the model and didn't add any tiger stripes to the dial :)

I tried on a 116200 36mm datejust recently and its almost great size wise, then I tried on a milgauss and the size was instantly perfect, but for me, the milgauss has too many visual keys - lightening hand, green crystal etc... I want a clean simple silver/silver datejust with a roulette datewheel in 39/40mm please!

I have been wearing my 36m DD for the past 3 weeks continuously (Yes I like it that much!) without touching my other watches. Today I sat down and tried on each watch for self enjoyment, as soon as I got the DJ II on I was thinking WOW it really is big LOL. I need some time to readjust to the size difference

Now I know why people are liking the 36mm more than the 41mm which I didn't think much of before today, so I think a DD in 36mm is perfect

I really like 38mm as a dress watch size. I still like my DJ's, but would like to see one in 38-39mm. I'm not a fan of the 41mm DJII.

I think I would've preferred the 39mm size over the new 41mm DJII. To me, the DJII in that larger size kind of looks awkward. I guess if you have really big wrists then it might work, but I think 39mm would've been better.

yeah i tried on the the DJ II 41mm at the AD today and it wears surprisingly large. IMO its the way the lugs are shaped. they just seem longer giving the illusion of a larger watch.

^^^Completely agree w/the OP.

I was in the market to replace my DD just this past month. I looked at the DDII, and I immediately thought it looked wrong (too big)...

I didn't even try it on. I said, next...

I saw a Daytona I liked, liked the size, and I bought it on the spot...

Until such time that Rolex offers a 39-40mm DDII (III-lol), then I'll replace my old DD w/a DDII or DDIII (lol-could happen?).

Large watches are soooo played out in my eyes/view. Coming from a guy w/large wrists/forearms/arms, is saying something. Are you listening, rolex???

IMHO, a 40mm watch is the best of both world on MY wrist in terms of size. Any watch I look to purchased, it has to be at least 38mm - 42mm in terms of size. I have a 38mm leather band and a 41mm sport. But the 40mm Rolex works best for me personally and I love Rolex !!

DD and DJ in 39mm case would have been perfect.
IMHO 41mm is little too radical coming from 36mm.
And i try very hard to like the DJ2 but feel the proportion is not right.
And it feels politically incorrect that my sub 16610 looks smaller then a dressy watch somehow.
I guess 36mm is still the size for me for DJ and DD.
Rolex have made some radical changes to some of the new models these few years and some like it some don't.
For me, i am maybe old school and i like how pre-ceramic models are presented: Old subs, old gmts, 36mm DJs, DDs, 36mm explorer 1, 40mm explorer 2s, 40mm SDs.
Almost all models have gained size, and those didn't get a larger case got the wide lugs instead.
Just my 2c

DD 39 would be fine. My DD 36 is fine. My Breitling SOH 46 is fine. My old Air King 34 was fine. There is no perfect size.

I find the look of the DJII to be OK in the showroom window, but I was in the Bahamas on a business trip and saw two guys wearing new DJII's. Both of the men were average size and both looked like they were 5 year olds wearing their dad's DJ's.

What really struck me wasn't the face/bezel but the size of the case against their wrists. I noticed it most from the side-- the case looked huge. I never think that when I see a smaller wrist with a Sub or GMT.

I think I'd have to agree on that one.

39 mm for any dress watch would be perfect. Rolex got this size right with their men's Pearlmaster model.

39mm on dress watches are totally fine and 40mm to 42mm on sports watches should remain as such.

No, you`re not the only one!
I think that 39mm will be absolutely perfect size for DJ and DD. Unfortunately, I don`t believe that it will happen, but who knows?

Stop messing with the classics, and give us something brand new to fill any gaps in the market.
