I am trying to figure out what year this submariner is from. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The pictures are from pictures that is why they are so bad. It was my brothers watch and it was stolen. He loved the watch and has been sick about it. I am trying to get the same yr range to replace it and give it to him as a gift. So the pics are of the same watch. And, I can not check the serial number...

post 2002?
Thanks for the welcome!
I know the pics are bad quality but it looks as if there is more than 2 lines of writing about the "6". I was thinking that signifies the watch is post 2002...? |

you could pop off the bracelet and then compare the serial number reference with common date codes - serial and model numbers are engraved on the case at 12 and 6 oclock.
Can you provide a better clearer picture as so many attributes change on the Submariner. Is there a code on the bracelet clasp (letter and number?) is there a code on each 'arm' of the bracelet - such as 91350? Welcome on board ... clearer pics would help ... |

Doesn't mean anything. Without the first few numbers of the serial or clearer pics I'm afraid its impossible to tell.

What can be said is that the dial has hour marker surrounds, so it could be post 1983. With those photos, you can't even tell if the watch in question is even authentic though... or if those are photos of the same watch.

Give us a hint, when did he buy it?
Most likely it's a 16610 model sub, very common, and they looked the same for the better part of 20 years.

If you look in the For Sale section here, soon you'll see a 16610 Sub 2005/06 for sale from $4400.00 to $4800.00

OK, so it's a 16610 then. (If he bought it new)
Plenty of them around. Good luck!

Get him a 5517 MilSub - he'll love you for it.
Just kidding - 16610 all the way. |
