Steve, why would a man of your status want a raggedy old thing like that?

Tell you what, send it to me and I'll gladly save you the embarassment of having to wear something so old.

I can appreciate old and original, but that one just looks frail to me ... dial crumbling

this dial was born as a black dial many years ago..gilt/gloss
with closed chapter ring and most believe it was a certain batch of dials where the paint turned this color due to the uniformity of the color change(and I tend to agree with that hypothesis)..
unfortunately the vast majority of these dials where swapped out by Rolex within a few years of them being sold as the paint apparently started to change colors within the first year or two..well,you know how you would feel if your brand new Rolex had some sort or "production flaw"..you would want it changed..PRONTO!
hence this is why the dial is so gosh darned rare..besides the fact that it is just beautiful to look at..
so if you find one of these dials..send it my way!..lol
