What has been your experiences with watch winders?
I'm curious to know because I can't seem to find any information in magazines or web sites that compares the different watch winders to each other.
When talking to dealers, it's hard to get a real answer as to which one they prefer because they'll just say the best is what they sell. If you have a watch winder, please post to let us know what you think of it. What brand and model do you have? Have you had any repair issues? Has your watch had any repair issues after being placed on the winder? Thanks again for everbody's input. I'm sure others may benefit for this post too. |

As I've stated on here before, I bought a winder off E-bay for $39.95. Two head, multiple rotations, a couple storage drawers. It says it's a Watchwinder (which I assume is the manufacturer) Watch Winder. As I'm sitting here at the PC I can hear it in the next room. It sounds like someone is mixing concrete. It kind of speeds up and slows down and sounds like it's laboring so I don't have a lot of optimism for its longevity! My AD has a beauty for $130 but I don't know the manufacturer, but at least he would probably stand behind it for a time. That's about the top limit I would spend for a winder. I like having one though, because IMO it's good for the watch and I don't want to worry about winding my spare watch every month, or making sure I rotate them often. (another reason why I should probably be a one watch man!)

I've been looking for that exact same winder WITH Rollies included! Unfortunately, refuse to spend more than my house is worth for it so no luck! Those are four saweeet watches!

I have an orbita. It's proven rugged and reliable. I tend to view a winder as a convenience rather than a necessity. It's nice when you have watches with non-quickset dates (vintage) or switch back and forth a lot, but I don't think it hurts the watch in the least to let it wind down and sit.
I have watches that I don't wear very often for one reason or another. Some of my pieces are in a safe deposit box and get wound once a moth or so. Last edited by mike; 6 May 2007 at 09:18 AM.. Reason: spelling |

Good luck with your search for a winder stocked with inexpensive, but authentic, Rolex watches. I am NOT going to hold MY breath, though. I suggest you breathe freely as well!
