Got my 5513 back from Chicago last week!
My 60s 5513 was completely overhauled by Sutter's Watch Repair (authorised Rolex Repair outfit).
When placed on my rejuvenated 60s Rolex USA jubilee bracelet, I am literally stunned by the transformation. While the markers remain slightly off-white due to age, the rest of the watch looks as though it might have been made last Tuesday. The face of the dial is flawless. The bezel -- which had a decent ding in it -- is somehow made whole. How they could do that without replacing it, I am uncertain. As a secondary thought, it also keeps good time! I will post pictures shortly! I should also state that the customer relations experience was considerably improved over my last engagement of Sutter's. $627...but it's like a whole new watch, and the combination of the Sub and the Jubilee - it's unique and looks great! -- LT SUBS |

Sounds good - I love when a vintage Rolex has the cream, 'off white' markers.
Really adds to the character IMHO. Pics asap please!

Lt. Subs;
Happy to hear of your recent good experience with Sutter's in Chicago. I was just there last week myself getting the bezel insert on my GMT II changed from winter black to Pepsi for the summer. All my experiences with these people whether on the phone or in person have been really positive. Extremely helpful and very qualified. Highly recommend Sutter's Watch Service for anyone in the Midwest. |

I know -- I shouldn't have started the thread without pics! I hate when guys do that!
The watch is perfect except for the gouge I took out of the crystal the first or second night. Whacked it against the bare brick (that's considered desirable here in NYC -- the brick and not the whacking) whilst sleeping. Talk about a REAL tosser. :( |

Ps: thanks for everyone's kind words. I have never had this watch in great condition before. Most prominently, the bracelet had fallen into a ruinous state. The watch itself had inexplicably been placed in a hiding place and forgotten(the location, not the watch was forgotten!). To rediscover my old friend, then to see her back in head-turning condition? Well, I literally get emotional about it.
Now I have to upgrade my wrist, which has become rather less muscular since I left the service. Subs |

Not to worry - as long as it is an acrylic crystal, a little poly watch will take care of that. Polywatch can be found online for less than $10 a tube (I found mine for $5 on ebay). It would probably take you just a few minute and presto, like new crystal!! |

Thanks again for everyone's nice words.
I am thinking of getting myself some of that crystal shine stuff. It is indeed a USA bracelet! |

Wow, that looks great. I've never seen a jubilee on a sub before, but it looks comfortable. Does the jubilee band tend to stretch more with the larger sports watches? I tried on a TT GMT the other day with a jubilee and it was comfortable, but I know I had some stretch in my tt datejust jubilee.
Frustrating about that crystal, tho! Luckily it can be buffed out easily. Kevin |

Is this one a 'large' sport model? It seems relatively compact compared to the watches that are en vogue these days. Bigger than my DJ, which is going to my wife (saw a girl wearing a man's AirKing on the Subway yesterday).
I'll see if it stretches out. I doubt this one can be repaired again (tightened) without some of the links snapping. I was told by the bracelet experts at classicwatchparts.com that this unhappy event was very likely THIS time. I am getting some polywatch now! :) LT 5513 |
