Thoughts on Zenith Sub/Cosmo hybrid
Hi all, I have a vast collection of watch books and brochures and this particular Zenith El Primero from'95 has always intrigued me as it has definite style cues from Submariner (case, bezel, hands, hour markers, oyster style bracelet) and Cosmograph (screw down pushers, case, tachymetric scale, contrasting subdials). The fact that Zenith provided movements for Rolex made me think that maybe they had a deal somewhere...What are your thoughts?? Ps This particular model was priced at £1795 (more than 14060 at that time..)

Excellent watch, with timeless design and one of the best movements out there!
If I could, I`d pull the trigger on this one in a heartbeat!

I don't know of any deal that let Zenith crib the design features, I think it was Zenith being a little timid and derivative with these watches (they are known as DeLucas BTW, named after Zenith's italian distributor as I understand). The mercedes hand in particular just makes me wince. In my mind, Zenith is Zenith and Rolex is Rolex. If I were to buy a Zenith, it wouldn't be one that was trying to look like something else.
