39mm Explorer I w/PCLs
I was banking on a domed bezel DJII to be introduced this year, but the longer it takes, the less likely it seems. SO, option #2 would be an Explorer I, but I wish the bracelet had PCLs.
Does anyone have a picture of this? Has anyone done it? Opinions on going through with it? OR, Maybe the Milgauss Bracelet can fit on the Explorer I? Any help for a newer member would be awesome! Thanks! |

That's the first time I see someone trying to go from BCL to PCL on an Explorer. It's a very easy task to do, and it can be reversed back in case you decide to sell your watch sometime in the future. You only have to be careful on the clasp, where the Rolex logo is a bit tricky to refinish.
However, I'm not sure what you would like to achieve with this. Are you looking for a Rolex with a PCL, in the 39-41mm diameter range, with domed bezel and simple dial layout? |

That is exactly what I am looking for! A "Rolex with PCL, 39-41mm diameter with domed bezel and simple dial layout", and if that sounds exactly like a Milgauss, you'd be correct, but I can't get over the lightning bolt second hand. It's cool. I'm just not sure if I'd like it a year from now.
I figure the easier fix would be to polish the center links on an explorer. Should I just purchase a GMTII, DJII, or Milgauss bracelet? |

A new GMT IIC solid bracelet with the EasyLink clasp is quite expensive (EUR 1300). Polishing the existing bracelet is a much cheaper job.

Hey Poi Boy,
I totally agree with you re the Explorer I 39mm with PCLs. I have a non date Sub but am coming close to pulling the trigger on the 214270. My thoughts are that if the center links were polished, it would make the perfect sport and dress watch. I do wish the dial of the new Explorer were black like the 114270 instead of the muted charcoal. The darker face gives more of a dressy appearance. |

Not sure if Mods will remove this link, but here's exactly what you have described done on a traditional Explorer. If links disapears, just search "harb rolex explorer polished" and you'll find it
