Los Angeles jewelry district
Going to be in LA this week on business. Looking to browse or possibly buy. Any recommendations in the downtown jewelry district?

Nope.
The downtown jewelry district is not known for watches, to my knowledge. If they did have some genuine Rolexes, they would likely be Grey Market watches. There are no listed ADs in that area as far as I know. Tony, aka "justrolexes" is a very nice daytrip away. Otherwise ADs are in Beverly Hills, Century City, and Malibu. Bob's Watches is a used dealer in Huntington Beach. |

As Medtech indicated, there are no AD's in Downtown LA.
However, I've had good experience with The Watch Empire. They have decent prices on used Rolex. You should call to see what they have in stock and make an appt. The Watch Empire 607 S. Hill St. #508 Los Angeles, CA 90014 213-622-2622 I am having them do a PVD coating on one of my watches. There's another Rolex place in downtown, I will get you the info. |

Here's the other store in Downtown that carries many Rolexes, also not authorized:
Farzad Mirage Jewelry and Watches http://www.miragejw.com 213-891-0909 Also, dont forget to visit Dalton and Beau at ABC Watchwerks: 635 S Hill St, Ste 406 Los Angeles, CA 90014 (213) 489-1816 You might want to call first and make an appt since some of these I mentioned are not on the floor retail level. |

Has anyone dealt with Mirage Jewelry and Watches ? Their pricing doesnt look bad. I am sure you would still have inspect the watch to see if the price is truely a good price.

I'll second The Watch Empire aka Time and Gems on sixth and Hill. Ask for Alex. Very courteous and professional. But appointment is necessary.

I spent a couple hours walking the jewelry district this weekend. As others have posted, there are no ADs and everything is grey market. If you know you're stuff though, there are some really nice deals to be had on some nice watches but also easy to get burned. You’ll find many without papers; boxes but no papers. I found that many of them were not even in the correct box. Not that that means anything but that’s the kinda thing that puts me off a bit.
I’ve bought from both Watch Empire and had a great experience . |

I wasted a whole day out there once. About 75% of the Rolex's dont have Box/Paperwork , even the new ones. High asking prices and shady looking watch dealers that haggle as soon as you look in their direction . I even saw some that didnt look real
Like another poster said go see "Justrolexes" Tony in San Diego , he's a good guy and always has good stuff |
