Bought this somewhat controversial rolex...

The SO and I took a long weekend in the Caribbean to try to recover from these sub 70 temperatures in southern GA. I had never seen this watch in person, but in pictures I always thought it was ugly. I had reacted to this watch much as I did to the pictures of the DSSD. Too much bold text. However, I was at a jeweler down here and got to see both the YG and WG for the first time. I immediately loved them, but remembered that YG just looks off on me. In person, the text is not as bold as it is in the pictures. I told the jeweler Id think about it, and bought this DJ for the SO. It is her first Rolex and she loves it.

That night I texted one TRF seller who has sold me several watches before. He told me that he could get it for me, and the range of prices to expect. I returned to the jeweler the next day and wanted to see how eager he was to sell. Apparently he was, as his offer was a bit lower than others Id seen. Then with the sleddog and Dalip camped out on my left shoulder, the SO convinced me to buy it. I peeled all the stickers and I havent taken it off ever since. My pics are getting better but I guess I now need to focus on cleaning the watch beforehand as well. Since the boxes are in the mail, a proper strip tease wasnt possible at this time...

Apparently the bezel will rotate one quarter turn counterclockwise. I'm wondering if someone (Im looking your way GMT master) can tell me why.

Comparing the ym2 to other large watches I own. It is quite a bit heavier than the DSSD.

Congratulations, it's quite the beast! The bezel turning one quarter clockwise allows you to set the regatta chronograph - I can't remember exactly how to set it up (it's been pretty much two years since I last handled one), but there should be a pretty good explanation in the instruction manual

Nice collection, but it's crown, IMO, is the 5002

Get the hell outta here Chris! I didn't know you were looking for one of those. Hell, I got a couple laying around the house I would of gave you.

Seriously, you da man. I actually had one of those on yesterday at my AD. Sucker is HEAVY.

Congratulations. You will have to bring that to the Savannah GTG if we ever get around to having one.
