Icon10 My first Rolex, a gift from a client, and a LIFETIME convert!!!

Hello,

I found this forum yesterday trying to figure out how to size my new watch. I'm pretty excited about joining this community, so HI ALL YA'LL!!!

I had a client who was pretty happy with a motion that we won on that saved him quite a bit of money (the judge to the other side ), so he paid me a little extra and gave me this watch. He has like thirty of these Rolex watches, and he said he never wears this one (he likes his Submariners, which he wouldn't part with).

I've worn seiko and citizen and have a nice tissot that I was wearing, and when I was a kid I had a few calculator watches in rubber and metal, but THIS is the bees kneez!!!

I may have gone in a bit deep with this model, though it will work well at work and in court, I'll have to get a submariner for vacation and camping. So, a quick sub-topic for this thread is if I got a gold submariner, could I put a green bezel on it?

Thanks all, I am ultra excited to have gotten this timepiece and to have discovered the quality of these watches. I'm hooked! My sig-sauer and AR funds will just have to share my money with my newly established watch savings fund! :D

Here she is, sorry for the crappy cell-phone pic.

Not a bad "little something extra" for a job well done.
Congrats and enjoy,

Green bezel? I guess you could find an aftermarket emerald bezel.

One could also tone the watch down just by swapping the dial.

Nothing wrong with wearing one Rolex for all activities.
Any of the models can take just about anything you throw at them.

Wow! What a way to start - a gifted day date with a diamond dial. To put is simply - everyone needs a sub.

Welcome to the club. It's an adiction. But, it is legal!

Hey I hear you. I wasn't the slightest bit interested in watches until I surprised my parents last Christmas with matching Rolexes - that they gave back to me two weeks later because they didn't like them! The return period had long passed, and all I could do was exchange them for something. I picked out a blue Submariner and have been hooked ever since.

Thank you all for the congrats!

@Rolesor, saved the client a quarter million on what initially looked like a loser case, but after some extensive research I found a case the other attorney hadn't seen, which was just what I needed. I'm pretty young, early 30s, so I'm no expert, but I know that hard work and extra hours pays off for the client.

@Sperry, good to know this watch can take what I can throw at it.

@medtech, I did get some more work from him that day too that'll keep me up this weekend! There's a time and a season and this season crept up on me!

@bscepter, after reading what you said, I looked and it would sell for a pretty price, but I am going to keep it for sentimental value as my first big windfall as an attorney.

Now to spend a few hours reading in the technical forum. I love the internet, the combined knowledge of us all is truly amazing!
