Possible purchase from ebay
Hi friends
Need some advice here. I'm thinking of buying a piece from ebay and planning on paying via paypal. I don't know who the seller is and i can't meet the seller face to face as he's in another state. Now my question is what is the worst that could happen?considering using paypal then shouldn't i be fully covered if the item not as described or not receiving it at all? Could i open a dispute then or if i was not satisfied could i get my credit card provider i.e bank to dispute the transaction |

In theory all of the above . Buy the seller .. look at his previous sales and even he has high feedback score look what type of items he has sold before . Check if there is not a considerable time laps between his last sale and now .
Join a link to the actual listing on ebay sure some people on watch out section ( where this thread belongs and suppose will end up there pretty soon ) will have more to say about it .

Well i just wouldn't consider buying from Fleabay ever unless it was a sale from a bricks and mortar shop. Too many fakes and scams going on.

I've had many successful purchases on eBay so I'm going to have to disagree with some of the above. Look through the sellers feedback, if they have sold Rolexes in the past or other costly items and have over a hundred sales and 100% positive feedback, then you're pretty safe with PayPal or any other form of payment really. Some will also offer a 100% money back guarantee if you don't like the watch. I wouldn't pay any other method other than PayPal with anyone that has few feedbacks and be a lot more careful in that case

Hi all
Thank for the responses, here is the link to the item. I am planning to have the watch authenticated once received so i would know certainly. Please keep the comment coming, as i still weighting the risk and return http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....T#ht_500wt_922 |

He has 117 feedback. Granted its all positive but that is not much. He has sold some surfboards, some freezers, some DVD players, etc. I see one transaction where he sold some Tag watch links.
I buy from Ebay all the time but I would not buy from a seller with that information. They may be fine, but I would not. |

More than two days left, already at AU $3800. Expect numerous last second bids...
If you choose the seller carefully, you can do alright on eBay. Bear in mind that there are many stolen and counterfeit items sold there. If you do buy the watch, take it to an AD immediately and verify that it's authentic and not stolen. |

Looks like a plain vanilla sub.
Couldn't you pick one up elsewhere? |
