Etiquette for wearing two Rolexes

When it is okay/not okay to have a watch on each wrist?

If you're an idiot, it's perfectly fine. If you're not, proceed with caution.

Why would anyone wear two watches at the same time? Why stop at two; why not 3 or 4?

I would NEVER wear 2 watches as I do not see any point to it but to each their own

Here is a now deceased but very famous watch person wearing multiple watches - he gets a pass because of who he was!

I would say wearing a watch on each wrist is only acceptable in the following situations:

Diving- ie a mechanical dive time watch as backup to a multifunction watch/dive computer/depth gauge.

Mountaineering- I wouldn't take my Rolex of but might wear a multifunction altimeter/barometer on my right wrist.

In both cases my Rolex would be my "watch" and the other might tell the time but I would be referring to it for it's other functions.
As to ever wearing two ROLEXES... You'd look like a tool, but whatever floats your boat!

Since starting this thread I have found that this topic has been discussed on this forum before. And most people didn't take it seriously then either.

The reason I started the thread was because I have seen people that I have a lot of respect for, wearing two watches. Actually, people highly respected on this forum!

It think it makes perfect sense to have a backup Rolex on your other wrist. Rolex watches are famous for being unreliable, and you can loose a wrist doing almost anything these days.

HAHAHA

If someone saw both my bank statements and my wrists, they'd have to assume my watches were FAKE.

I guess it's OK, if you're 16, driving your daddy's BMW, blasting techno music.

Oh wait, that's the definition of a DB.

Most of the time, and dare I'd say to most people, any otherwise average, non-eccentric, "ordinary" person doing this would look like a total tool.

Owning more than one Rolex is cool (as many members here do). But wearing more than one at a time would most likely make you like a middle-schooler who raided daddy's watch collection and is trying to show off for his little friends.

Why do girls wear more than one pair of earrings? And actually poke more than one pair of holes in their ear lobes to do it?

Thanks, yes he was - he saved the Swiss watch industry during the quartz crisis.
