Welcome to the forum
It looks legit from your pics,$3500-4k.does it come with any papers or service history?
does the dial have spider cracks in it,kinda looks like it does.
it may not have the original dial, not sure if the gold surrounds were available in 84'.i'm sure others will chime in on that note.

Hey etp095, no papers or service history, there are spider cracks does that pretty much mean its real, as no one would go about making fake rolex's with spider cracks?

The serial no. of the watch between the lugs at 6 o'clock will determine a pretty accurate year of manufacture.

well where there's a will there"s a crime,it would be highly unlikely.rolex did have problems with dials cracking.since your in SF,there is an independant rolex service center in your town, they could pop it open for you, then you could be 100% at ease with your purchase.i'd keep the spider cracked dial, kinda unique, some collectors really like it.also not a good idea to broadcast the serial numbers of your soon be watch.block the last 3 digits if you post pics.

That would be the correct dial for circa 1984. The watch appears genuine. Some people do like the "cracked" dials, and others view them as defective. The cracked dials have been discussed here in some previous threads which might provide additional information for you through the search function. The cracking was probably caused by applying the dial enamel too thick, or the paint could have just been improperly mixed and defective at the time it was applied. It is not normal for the dials to be "cracked" like the one in your photos. The paint can flake off, which would not be conducive to the movement if it entered the inside of the watch. A replacement tritium dial for that watch would probably cost between $300 to $500 based on condition.
