Can't seem to get 16800 bezel insert seated

Maybe one of you has a tip here. I ordered a bezel insert for my 16800 that has the correct patina to the pearl and matches the watch. Mine came with a 16610 insert that had a crack in it and the pearl was the only part on the watch that still lumed.

So I got the 16800 insert yesterday and tried with all my might to get it in, but no luck. I spent about 3 hours trying various techniques. I've never had this much trouble with my GMT inserts. I've followed Jocke's tutorial with the "table edge technique" as well as some of the ones on YouTube, but no go. It just seems to be slightly larger than the bezel. I don't have any reason to believe it is aftermarket or not genuine Rolex. I've compared it via a loupe with high resolution 16800 pictures and everything seems consistent.

Anyone got any tips here? Thanks in advance.

I believe the correct size is 37.65mm for the outside diameter, and 30.7mm on the inside diameter, but I have seen authentic inserts vary by about .1mm, so perhaps you may have to slightly file the edge to fit.

I would venture to guess that it is off by 0.1 mm or so. It isn't a whole lot. I had considered filing the edge, but didn't know if it would cause any problems. Anyone ever done this?

You need to use a pair of plastic edged pliers and get it started by hand then finish the last part by rolling the pliers over the edge onto the bezel and snap it in. Rik

I have filed aftermarket inserts to fit, but never had to file genuine inserts. I use the same technique as Rikki. A pair of plastic tip pliers will get the job done every time.
