Thanks TRF: Pulled trigger on new GMTIIc
Just wanted to say thanks to posters here for all their knowledge and help. I have made a couple of threads looking for advice and got tons of helpful feedback. Just reading these forums I learned more than I thought I ever could about Rolex's, so thanks.
After much deliberation between the Kermit Sub, SS Daytona's, and a 16600 Sea Dweller, I went ahead and bought a new SS GMT IIc and am thrilled with it. Got it BNIB for a great, great price (20% discount), so I am thrilled. Keeps good time, gains about 10 seconds a week which seems pretty solid I think. The solid link dial and the new clasps are truly game-changing IMO as they make the watch just feel so "solid" on the wrist, not jiggly or anything like 99% of watches. Only wish is a glidelock clasp like the subs. next challenge is keeping the center links as fresh as possible (and of course, convincing the wife to let me get the LV Sub now.) Cheers! and thanks to TRF for being so damn helpful and knowledgeable about these great watches. |

Yes a great choice, cannot wait to see some pics... Best way to "infect" the wifey with the disease and get her on board with your next is to get her one too
