Day-Date concern ?
Dear friends,
Before buying a Day-Date, I would like to know is there has been changes in the movement in, say, the last decade ? Also, would you feel concern that this watch does not feature the new "anti-magnetic" allow for the hairspring ? Thanks a lot. |

Well the Day Date had a movement change last from the Cal 3055 to the Cal 3155 in 1988 and thats still used today. And apart from that only very minor cosmetic changes to the DD, newer models have a better clasp design.Regarding the new parachrome hairspring, its no big deal.Rolex watches have managed for around 45 years without it. And all have kept extraordinary good time to the chronometer spec of -4 to +6 secs over 24 hours. And even with this new hair-spring results are tested to the same chronometer standard as those without, and the old spring has a degree of anti magnetism, like most watches today. And any watch any brand to be called a chronometer must pass the same COSC test.Whether its got a parachrome hair spring or not,IMO just Rolex speak and marketing hype.

I sure he meant to say -4 to +6 "seconds" over 24 hours. |
