I know my Rolex is safe in London...but I cant decide which one...
I will be in London this next week during the Royal Wedding and then on to the continent.
I will only take ONE watch.....and I am torn between SS GMT 16700 (daily wearer), and a TT 16713. I love the stainless and have the option to take/use a jubilee as well as the oyster with the 16700 but London has a bit more formality in the air, esp with the wedding, and the TT may be a bit more appropriate and fun. The 16713 gets no wrist time at home. The trip, as always, involves the front of the airplane, some nice hotels/restaurants, lots of museums and just strolling through the old city. I am not worried about strong arm robbery and the watch only leaves my wrist for the safe in the room. Suggestions? |

Since you dont wear it much at home, it should be fun to take it on your trip!

What does a wedding that you are taking no part in has to do with a wristwatch?

Is this the best TRF gets?
Come on guys, surly we dont need the approval of others for something like this? Think for yourselfs and man up. I may be in the minority here but these threads are putting me right off. Its starting to feel like a womens magazine!! Dave. |

If you dont understand or dont approve.. do not read the thread and certainly exersize some self restraint if you are going to take it so seriously and dont participate to the detriment of your mental well being... Scroll down the list of tpics in this forum. If you are looking for significant, serious discussion of Rolex watches; 1) it wont take long to exhaust the topic and 2) by the looks of the forum OP topics...it doesn not appear that most share your serious nature. |

To be fair though - the thread title was quite clear and you didn't have to force yourself to click on it and reply to it TWICE if you didn't like/agree with it.....

Thanks for all the input and support guys. Looks like the 16713 is catching up. I must say I am leaning that way just to give it some wrist time. It will work well in formal coat n tie environments and casually while I am viewing the British Museum and the Wallace Collections in a polo and jeans.
Its just hard to give up the daily wearer (16700) that has become part of my wrist over the last year. I guess that's one of the difficult aspects of collecting, even on my small scale... how to justify the watches you don't wear once you find one you really like. As for this thread, i was just curious what thoughts and choices otheres in the forum would make. |
