I noticed this weedend that my dial is cracked.
Well its official, I came to work today with one thing in mind and that was putting a loupe to my dial to see if was actually a Crack I was seeing and it was. A nice fracture from the corner of my day window to the outer edge of the dial. I'm sick. I will post a pic if I can get it to show up with my camera. It's gonna drive me nuts now. Years ago I had a tiger eye dial that started cracking when I put it in a ultrasonic cleaner. I thought maybe this lapis dial would be tougher I guess not.

Just to clarify. I never put this watch in the ultrasonic so that is not the culprit.

If you need a loupe to really see it, I wouldn't give it a second thought until it's disintegrating onto the dial.
It looks great from that photo. Of course if you're looking for a new dial, the meteorite gets my vote! Good luck. Cartier cracked my wife's pink MOP dial with her last service, replaced at their expense of course.

I stocked up on gaskets. I really need a fresh fluted bezel, the ones I have left have been polished too much.

The crack will bug you to no end. Trust me, I've been there! If I were you I'd get a new dial and replace it

If there is a crack, I don't think it will affect performance would it? Would bits of thd dial go into the movement?

Should you pull the crown, halt the time and bag it in a zip lock bag and send it off?
I mean won't little pieces of glass cause more of a headache? |

From your pix it looks like the dial above the day window is sitting at a different angle from the rest of the dial, reflecting the light at the angle you're holding it. That's a bit of an issue, and it likely has exactly nothing to do with you.
I would get it fixed by Rolex if it's an original dial. If not, the supplier should fix it. Is that an aftermarket diamond bezel? It's very blingy. Nice. |

Well the Lapis stone disc is just the front of the dial, it has a metal backing that the stone is applied to so it's not in direct contact with the movement. There are no fragments present as this is just a thin fracture but a fracture non the less. PLEASE PM ME if anyone has a FACTORY exotic dial for a Day-Date of any kind for sale.
