Sub Date 116610LN or Deepsea?
I just got back from an AD that had both the DeepSea and new sub in stock. I love the look and feel of both watches when I tried both on. I have always loved the Deepsea from pictures and when I put it on in person was shocked at how stunning and good it felt on my wrist like a mini tank. I am just worried about the weight/bulk of the Deepsea as a daily wearer even though I have other watches to rotate. The new sub felt great also but just a bit small coming from my 42 mm Omega PO. So what are the pros and cons from those who have both? I am leaning more towards the Deepsea at this point. Thanks

I found that for an everyday watch the Sub C was more practical for me. The Deep sea was just a bit too thick and heavy for my liking.

SUB C. It feels a lot better on the wrist then the clunky Deep Sea overtime. The SUB is always a classic piece as well. Can I ask what else you have in your collection?

If you can get used to the weight and height of the deepsea over long periods of time then go for it. Personally I couldn't do it, it just looks silly on my wrist. The only problem might arise is when you actually start wearing the watch on a continues bases and realize its quit uncomfortable. I believe thats what happened to another member here on the forum who couldn't deal with the size of the watch after a year and sold it and purchased the SUB C. But if the Deepsea sings to you then thats one you'll have to get.

I also found the Sub-C to be a much more enjoyable watch for daily wear. The DSSD is great but hard for me to justify for everyday.

I loved the looked of the Deepsea. It was comfortable on my wrist and looked great. However, after spending a few months with the watch; I had to throw it back into the sea. It was a combination of the weight and height off of the wrist. Definitely not a watch you want to go running with. That said, many people love them.

I love my deep sea ! it was a everyday watch for about 4 months now it in a rotation. If you have a wrist over 7" you should have no problems with it as a daily wearer.

This seems to be a common question lately......
If you find you can get past the weight and height of the DSSD (as this is always a downside for most!), then you will undoubtedly love it.... If you feel it will to be overpowering, go the Subc! Both are wonderful watches, and either is great choice IMO.!

I just got my DSSD.
There's no other Rollie that would give you the presence the DSSD does. Period. But that comes at a price as everyone here mentioned. If you can deal with the weight as a daily beater then go for it. But remember it weighs 220gms. A PAM Luminor weighs 120gms. Go figure. I am now looking to buy a SubC. Will I sell my DSSD? Probably not. |

The SubC is too big for my taste, the DSSD isn't anywhere close to the ballpark.

IMO, if you want to wear it everyday and you wear shirt/tie/suit everyday, then go with Sub C
otherwise if you still think you can live with the size and weight everyday, then go with DSSD |

To me, it was not so much the weight as the height. If the watch had 2/3 the height it would be perfect to me.

The Deep Sea is in a league all it's own. People go on and on about it's height and weight.
Give me a break guys and grow some b***s. It's a watch. As far as comfort goes the more you wear it, the more comfortable it gets. What I like about the watch is the weight and the height. Absolutely awesome. I would NEVER part with my DSSD! |

This week I was thinking about a Deep Sea, but for just a little more I was able to pick up a SS Sub 116610LN and a Breitling super avenger with a white face. I originally wanted a Sub, then I saw the deep sea and loved it. But when I did the math I was able to to do the classic sub which I have always loved, AND a beast of a Breitling at 48mm wide and 18mm tall for about $1200 more than the deep sea would have cost by it's self. Food For thought best of both wolds?.?.?.?

Another vote for the Sub C.
Before buying it, I gave the DSSD a last chance and knew immediately what to choose. |

For me, I like the Deepsea more:
Domed crystal Markers to 60 on the bezel Glidelock clasp (no, they're not the same) No cyclops plus as you can see here, the Sub is more popular, in fact, the MOST popular Rolex. Hence they are everywhere. Don't get me wrong, the new SubC is a brilliant watch and if you asked SubC or ...insert any other Rolex here..., I would say "SubC". However, in this case, go for the Deepsea. |

If it is an only/everyday watch the choice is easy - SubC.
If you are tall/large guy, do a fair amount of diving/exploration, the DSSD becomes a fun and cool piece. Total overkill. |
