Doesn't surprise me - there are about 40 names on our list at work, which works out at about 5-8 years. Realistically, though, quite a lot of people just aren't interested in buying right now, especially black dials. Might want to take a look at Blowers, they've got loads of Daytonas in stock right now

The thing is, they're really not. I work for an AD, it's embarrassing having to quote that length of time. But that's the way it is here in the UK, demand far outstrips supply, although that does appear to be changing now

I must be missing something. All this talk of waiting lists and whatnot, yet a number of trusted TRF sellers can get most anything within days. What's the deal???

Regional variation is the only logical explanation.

just one of many things we get shafted on in the UK, although i'm still pretty sure if you went round a few AD's with cash in pocket the safe door may well open swiftly....and i'd happily take a Black dial

Sure they will say 5, 10, 15, 20 years if you call and they do not know you.

Do you have a relationship with the AD? Have you bought from them before?

My AD has called me three times asking if I wanted an SS Daytona and I am not even on a list nor have I ever asked to be on one.

Buy a watch, get to know the people in the store and you will be surprised at how short the list really is.

I turned down a stainless white dial in Geneva last summer. With the exchange rate at the time it would have worked out at £5900. Still kicking myself over that one!

Dino, if you are really desperate and want to buy from an UK AD, i can check with my contact to see if he can source one for you - but i have a feeling it will be at the current MSRP.

A certain AD with an outlet in Lancaster will be able to quote you a lot less than 10 years

10 years. What a steaming pile of horsesnit. As I have told people here a dozen times, waiting time in Canada for SS Daytonas is 2 picoseconds. Somebody in the pipeline to the UK is deliberately hosing the customers. Not sure whether it is Rolex or the ADs themselves, but somebody is lying like a rug.
