Audemars & Piguet

i suspect this question may have been asked before, but i'm new so don't be to critical.

why do A&P watches sometimes have the hour markers at 2 and 3 transposed and in red, e.g the shaq oniel spec ec?

just curious to know thats all.

thanks

Exactly, and used only on that one model.

It is only the Shaq one that does that. No other AP ROO has the 2 and 3 transposed, just the Shaq.

I've always wondered about the hexogonal screw heads on the bezel - how do they turn? I assume they are decorative?

No, they are functional. The screws go all the way through the case and hold the back on!

Definitely functional. The actual screw heads are on the back - the screws on the bezel serve as nuts.

Notice how the lines on the bezel screws are carefully aligned to circle the dial - - I've always appreciated that fine touch.

Thanks for pointing that out, I had actually never noticed that.

Nice touch.

While the ROO is a great watch and one I have come close to getting
many times it is just not for me, too many shortcomings in my opinion
from AP for it to be a true AP. I think a piggy back chrono is a serious
let down for a watch in this price range and in turn the piggy back causes
the ROO to have an even thicker case.

Regardless while it is not the watch for me Id never poo poo anyone whose
wearing a ROO based on their watch that is for sure!

Is any one like me when they think of AP ? Some times I think it's a real gimmicky brand making watches for Shaq and Arnold and Clinton and overly priced for a non Manu movement. Then sometimes I think dam no matter the gimmicks these are some good looking watches and have a unique line up lime the ultra cool millenary the Jules Audemares and the Edward Piguet. Some times I think it's a Celebrity watch brand then I think it a haute horlogical brand.it may be both but it seems to be a watch I want at a heavvvvvvy discount. But who ever does buy it defentialy has good taste. I think
