Oyster Bracelet Stretch
Does anyone know if a T/T oyster band is susceptible to "stretching" the way that the T/T jubilee band is notorious for? I know that they made improvements to both bracelets recently. I have a 2007 era submariner t/t that I take excellent care of; yet I feel that the band is beginning to stretch a little bit and the gaps between the links are expanding. Any help or information on this is greatly appreciated.
Thanks |

Stretch with wear is inevitable over time....Keep it clean, and it'll last many years yet!

Oyster band stretch is very minor compared to the jubilee bracelets...

I think that the TT bracelets are noticeably more prone to "stretch" and wear than the Stainless version..
The gold links in the center are not as thick as the Stainless version. They use sleeves around the spring-bars to take up the extra space and this helps keep the actual wear to the links to a minimum, but you can't get around the fact that gold is more plastic than steel.. and the closer you get to 24k gold, the more that has an affect... Still, well maintained and cleaned and a TT Oyster will last for decades without issue........

I have yet to see a user jubilee that wasn't stretched. Actually, I prefer them stretched--to get a bracelet effect.
The Oyster band is hard to stretch. My first Rolex had a SS Oyster band. Wore it for 7 years--never a sign of stretch. The links are very thick, and the feel is stiff-- different from the jubilee, which is more like a flexible bracelet. |

Hey thanks all for your help with this. Like anything else in the world- use will result in wear and I have to come with terms that an older bracelet will not be the same as a brand new one.

X2 And S.Steel cannot stretch its the pin holes elongate with friction caused by dirt and grit.Just keep oyster bracelets clean with soap and water and normal routine service cannot see any reason not to last 30-40 years I have a few 20 plus years old still almost like new..
