I don't know. I have a 168000 with a 9 mil. serial number. It's 25 years old. The vintage cats don't like sapphire and modern guys don't want open sixes. Do I own vintage or modern? A 25 year old car would not be modern and here in Maryland would qualify for vintage tags, however I would not consider a 1986 car to be vintage.

Only one rolex (DSSD) but my next will be a vintage. Either a red sub or an old GMT.

I like vintage but it must be well kept, preserved or maintained.

I see some vintage rolexes that really look like they were resurrected from the grave. Those I don't care for. To me being old doesn't necessarily give it value unless it still looks nice after all these years.

So a nice vintage for me because you can purchase a new one anytime.

Modern. If they made them with lugholes, tritium, and classic case and rattle bracelets.

A man of taste... I take it your 14060m has all of the above other than the tritium!

Thanks. Come to think of it I sold my tritium dial Explorer to fund the 14060M. Oh dear...

I'm a function-first type of guy so I prefer modern watches as they tend to be, if ever so slightly, more accurate, better lume, easier to service and more comfortable (like the new bracelet on the sub). Additionally, I feel less bad putting a dent in my SubC than a vintage double-red Seadweller.

I have more modern Rolex watches than I do vintage, but I think I prefer vintage.
