Having just purchased a Victorinox Ground Force V25792 which I knew was a dicontinued model, I contacted Victorinox to see what year the watch was manufactured so that I could determine when to have it serviced.

I received the following reply:

The first two digits (05) are related to the manufacturing year, i.e. 2005
The next two digits (09) are related to the manufacturing month, i.e. September

So my new watch is in fact over five years old and requires a service.

hmm interesting.

i have a victorinox ambassador and never thought of servicing it.

i only get it repaired when it already speeds up 15 minutes. then the repair man tells me to overhaul.
