My Rolex magazine adverts......modem burner

I've been collecting Rolex magazine ads for a while now, and have most of them scanned. These are all originals, no reprints.

This is my oldest, from the Illustrated London News, June 6, 1953. It, like older Rolex watch dials, has developed a nice patina over the last 58 years.

Here's the back side of that one

Anyone recognize the autograph on this one?

"For your America's Cup 1977 handbook, see your authorized Rolex jeweler"

"In steel $428.50. In 18 kt. gold with matching bracelet $3,450"

Paul Cayard and Dennis Connor, America's Cup skippers

There might be a trend developing here..........

My AD often runs adverts in Hamilton Magazine:

A Tudor advert I thought was pretty good, the black didn't scan as well as I'd hoped

I don't think you're going to see any more of this one for a while.

I have a couple of others including the Datejust II that I haven't had a chance to scan hyet.

Nice! Some of the old Rolex adds are just magical. Flashback to childhood reading my uncles magazines discovering Rolex at the age of 6.
