First rolex
Big hi to everybody! I have already decided to get a submariner(pre-owned) as my first rolex, but i was wondering what series would be better for keeping(more timeless)? With lug holes or without? And should i get a piece with chapter ring or without? Thanks!

I am with Tony on this one, newer is better IMO but many will disagree

But a few other thoughts to throw into the mix, lug holes some find more easy if your a Nato fan and change bracelet/bands often. Over 5 years old and you "should" factor in a service, think about adding an extra ~$500.00 to whatever your purchase price was. If you just plan on desk diving and getting caught in a rainstorm then feel free to roll the dice and get it serviced whenever |

Oh yea! Haha I am definitely getting one with date though(Sub Date) cos i think i am gonna keep and wear it for many years to come..so i'll need that date function..however i do not understand the tremendous difference in pricing between date and no date..

This is my simple opinion, and many other members will have different opinions .... To me, the lug holes are better .. The age just goes to show how perfect Rolex is, and how they are built to last forever

I would definitely go with lug holes--the newest one you can find with holes would be a great pickup. If it hasn't been serviced, it would definitely be time--and when it came back it would be just like brand new!
