whoops..4500 repost
Learning to navigate the forum, Thanks for the great posts!
I think I got the pix to stick...here's dads nice 1947~4500 chronometer, would enjoy any insight about this piece, recommendations, figuring out how to put a value. I removed the band for inspection, all is intact and the piece runs great. How does one tell if it the dial has been refinished? it has that 'aged patina' or very off white colorage. live and learn here...Thanks all |

4500
Hi,
The dial has been refinished - and not vey well. The crown is not original as is the bracelet. The bracelet and crown issues could be reasonably easily sorted, the dial is a different story. It would probably take some time to locate an original dial and you would have to pay highly for it. As is I would think your watch is worth 5 - 7k Here is my 4500, however the dial on this one could be unique. The 4500 usually has straight writing under the crown and I have never seen one with large sub dials as mine has. |

Dial and offer
Hi,
An original dial should have SWISS MADE on the bottom, they are also sometimes only marked SWISS. As for the 10k you have been offered, I think thats a very good price. We watch collectors are suckers, you my find someone who will pay more - good luck!! |

Adrian - please PM me. I have a 4500 with identical dial and hands. It would be interesting to compare the case numbers. Cheers, Ian. |

Great looking Chronographs. Its interesting how these ones don't command even higher prices.
