Submariner questions from a newbie
New to the forum, but long-time Rolex owner. My first was a Datejust in 1987, and recently I acquired two Subs, a 116610LN random serial number and a 11613LB V series.
In comparing the two, it seems to me that the two-tone is slightly heavier that the stainless. Also, both have the Glidelock bracelets, but the stainless appears to be slightly longer. To get the same fit on both, the stainless is set to its shortest length, and the two-tone is one slot out from the shortest length. Am I imagining things, or are the overall weights and the bracelet lengths different between the two? |

Not sure about the bracelets but they should be the same lenth. But the gold parts would weigh heavier that the equivelent parts in SS. So the TT 116613 would be heavier than the all SS watch but only a small amount.

Thanks for the input. My TT is definitely heavier than the SS, and the bracelet on the SS is one glidelock clasp notch setting longer than the TT.

I finally figured out the bracelet differences with the Glidelock clasp. The stainless bracelet has 6 glidelock settings, with the indentation closest to the buckle a little wider than the other 5. The two-tone bracelet has 7 indentations, all of equal size.
The TT has 13 links, 8 on one side and 5 on the other. The SS has an extra small link or a modified end link on the 8 link side that locks into the indentation, and makes the bracelet slightly longer. That explains why the band is most comfortable in the 2nd indentation on my SS Subs, and in the 4th indentation with my TT Sub. |
