Franck Muller question

Just wondering if anyone has one of these & what they think of them?
I'm only talking the automatics, not sure why he has so many quartz in his line up

I have looked at a couple. I have not heard great things about them. A few look pretty nice but some of their dial designs are really awlful. Especailly the "crazy hours" and few others.

Don't do it John! Nice but in two weeks you'll be flipping it for another Pannie!

All the ones that I like are crazy high in price. For the money you get a ultra cool VC or JLC though.

THey are nice watches, but WAY OVER PRICED. YOu can get a nice JLC rectangular watch, with a date and cool reverso case for about half the cost.

I really don't care for the design of the FM watches.

Although Franck Muller is a very skilled watchmaker himself, I don't think most people think that his watches are produced and finished to the same high level as other brands in their price class. Finishing usually doesn't have much to do with the functionality of the watch itself, it is more of a prestige item. So it really depends on why you want the watch. If you just like the style and don't care about other fine finishing details, you might be satisfied. However, if you are looking for a brand that offers good value in that price range, I would advise you look more at some of the other brands.

Crazy hours is very cool & crazy priced too.
I couldn't pull the trigger on the FM.
Got myself the Panerai 212 instead.
Love playing with the buttons on the chrono.
Has the hacking seconds as well as the flyback function.

Nice watch, John. But let me ask you. How much do you really use the chrono?

That's not a pejorative, because I love chronos myself, but I seldom use that function. In fact, the only time I really use the chrono function is when I walk for exercise, and then i wear my Omega X-33, which is easy to read.

Don't have a ton of uses for the chrono, but occassionally I do require one.
More of a "different complication" than anything.
