I thought they didn't make 14060 with SELs? What the??

I was at the mall the other day and saw this at the window of one of the jewelry shops. A 14060 with SEL? I thought they didn't make any Sub NDs with SEL? (I learned that here on TRF!....) So the band was probably replaced? Your thoughts.

Any Rolex SEL bracelet will not fit a 14060 or 14060M without some serious modifications and different lug pins.

Assuming the head is authentic, so it's either a modified band or a non-genuine band? Is that right?

Its a non engraved non COSC version, could be older so its possible the bracelet's been replaced with an after-market SEL model, my 1680 had a SEL after-market oyster bracelet on it before I bought the 93150, so they'd fit a 14060 too.

Alternatively it wouldn't be the first low end jewelery shop to stick a fake Rolex in the window to lift the standards of the cheap rings and necklaces on offer.

Look at the center link, then compare to a non SEL Oyster bracelet.

Interesting read. Was also curious about SEL on a 14060. Thanks for sharing

SEL = solid end link

This means the first link from the head down is one piece VS the two connecting pieces on non SEL bracelets (all on older models)

i put an SEL on an older 16610 that started out with the stamped old style end links.

specifically i replaced a 93150 with a 93250. perfect fit.

14060 was not made with SEL ever, to the best of my knowledge, don't know how 14060 will differ from 16610 as far as bracelet fit.
but
Padi56 says its a no go (have to give him the nod for having way more expertise than myself)

but i feel that SEL is desirable if given a choice (although not if you want the last word in authenticity) because after wearing the non SEL style bracelet for years, it actually began gauging into the lugs and wearing them unnecessarily. rational is bracelet is easily replaced, while Case frame is quite involved and explensive.

The short answer is no...Just as Padi said above, the 14060 midcase is not designed to fit the SEL bracelets.
Unless the bracelet is modified or aftermarket, it will not work!

Here's a great little tutorial from Larry, which is in the reference section along with alot of other superb info!

Iīve heard that the SEL bracelets that were made for lugholes can fit a 14060M, and that SEL made for non-lugholes canīt.

Interesting.

There are a few people now who have stated that they swapped the SEL Oyster to a 14060 no problems at all.

As Jonny said, Experiment time for someone with both watches!
