NOS Submariner not disclosed?
I am the proud owner of Rolex Submariner 14060M COSC. Purchased new in March from a well established family owned AD in my area, at a price similar to mint pre-owned. Keeps just about perfect time. My research dug up that this was manufactured in 1989? This can't be right? I keep looking for the link I thought I saw here showing serial numbers and dates, any help appreciated. Thanks to all here, this forum has been a great source for info and entertainment.

Give a look here. BTW, what is the 1st character of your watch's serial number?

COSC version would not be from 1989.

I bet if you look closely at your serial number there is at least one more letter in the string. Random serial no sub IMHO

only one letter
New one for my son and its 44n**** and no further letters-- only numbers. He didn't care what the serial was, only that he got it for graduation from HS and it was new! He wanted a bnib 16610 but "settled" for a new 14060M-life is tough LOL

Afraid today many put far to much enthuses on these Internet case codes, all these could ever tell you thats a case was stamped sometime between X&Y years. And not necessarily when a completed watch was fully assembled and shipped for sale. Now with watches that use the Cal 3135 Rolex sell around 500000 watches with this movement every year. Now these movements are not all made the same day, week, month, or year. Now Rolex must have a huge stock some at Rolex HQ, plus others being tested at Swiss COSC.Today only Rolex knows how old the main bit the movement is,so what this means in any particular case the movement could be older or newer in any case or visa versa. But no matter what the case letter when bought new from AD, they all get the same two year warranty. And whether a case is stamped Tom Dick or Harry they will all last 50 plus years with just with normal routine service.A great watch the 14060m last of the Rolex classics wear it in good health.
