Icon8 1986 Submariner has Sunk

Hi All,,,
Could you help me find parts for my 1986 Submariner Date,Model 16800 (Calibre 3035 Hi beat.)
I stupidly forgot to screw in the crown after ajusting the date and then cleaned the car, so it got a little wet.
So I now have it with this nice old retired rolex watch repairer, Living local to me, But he's not internet savy, So not being able to locate parts for it, Such as 3rd wheel 4th wheel and escape wheel, (also have lost click spring between repair shops and my man).
Have gone on line and there are some places in the states that sell Generic Rolex parts for my whatch @ $18 each wheel but only the 3rd & 4th. Iv'e owned this watch from 1992 and feel lost without it, it's been on my wrist as a motorcycle courier, for 9 years, its waived to Princes Diana in traffic, and got a smile back Ha Ha. Any way I'm in need of these parts so could you point me in the right direction Please Help..Steve H

First of all, welcome!

Secondly, regarding your Submariner...

While your watchmaker is no doubt a peach of a fellow, why not make things far easier on yourself and take the watch to one of the exceptionally fine official Rolex Service Centers in the UK? Cost savings can be the only reason I'd think of as to why you'd want to go on the hunt you're describing...and then, isn't your companion of many years worth just that little bit extra $$ for peace of mind? (especially if it hasn't had a full service since the 80s/90s)

Other than that, good luck (hopefully the watch isn't flooded..although if your Triplock seals are still intact, your watch may still have not taken moisture even, even with the crown unscrewed) and hopefully you can locate what you need.

Best,

Adam

Cheers Adam for your advice, Yes it did get moisture inside, When opened rust was found. Yes it would be great to take it to a jolly good fellow at Rolex, But wish to keep my arms & legs. I'm just a poor window cleaner in the UK ....in need of help for my wrist buddy!!!

I think I'm learning fast,, Thanks to this Great forum ....Firstly when ordering a 4th wheel you order a 2nd wheel (there is no 4th wheel it's called second's wheel or second wheel.) Is that right? Thank you "Venesa" for that and "The Watch Maker" for clearing that up I think? It's a USA / Uk Thing? (Tomatoes etc etc)
So if my retired UK watch fixer is asking me to find a 3rd wheel and 4th wheel + escape wheel is he in fact asking me to locate a 2nd & 3rd wheel + Escape wheel ?

Cheers so, far Guys & Girls

P.S on ebay they have them for sale @ around $90/$129 is that a fair price.

Well Well all sorted now. found all the bits for my watch. In the UK. Not Ebay. Plus there genuine Rolex parts. With a little delving into the watch world it can have a happy ending. Joe Public can buy genuine Rolex parts.
