Nato strap on submariner
I've recently got a 11610LV and i'm looking to buy a nato strap to put it on. I have seen many pictures of subs on nato straps and they all look fantastic, especially the milsub. Before i buy one i need a few questions answering.
1. Does anyone have any links to websites with good quality nato straps?(preferably that members have purchased from in the past) 2. Is it a 20mm strap that i need to buy ? 3. What sort of price range should i be looking at for a good quality one ? Any other opinions on subs on nato straps would be useful too ! Thanks Matt |

broadarrow is good, I think I've got a couple from strapcode (google them) too.
20mm is what you need. they range from 12-25usd

got my maratac elite composite from broadarrow, both my natos came from gnoman, broadarrow didn't have the colors I got. around $20 and that included shipping. have only had them a few months, but I am very happy, and for $20 can't go wrong. pics of my lv on them are on original lv owners thread

Try a zulu, I've found natos sometimes feel flimsy, but the zulus are a nice thick material, usually $20-25.

Got mine from gnomon as well--have just placed an order for a braided black one from natostrap.com in Australia.

Here's the Sub-C on zulu:
...And nato: Try to use the photos to judge quality, having owned both I can tell you I prefer zulu. Good luck!

They both look good, but you can really tell the difference in thickness and quality between them

With the Maratac brand......I have found the woven nylon fabric on their solid colors in the ZULU style strap to be thicker than the fabric in their NATO strap (solid colors). Some find the thicker fabric hard to fit through spring bars.
Not sure if Countycomm.com & Broadarrow.net (U.S. purveyors of Maratac straps) ship out of USA? In the UK, I have heard good things about the Timefactors straps.

The point about the strap being too thick to fit through the spring bars is definitely noted as there is no point spending money on something that won't fit. Broadarrow.net do ship outside the US but the shipping rates are higher.

Nato strap
Quote:
I havent fitted to my Sub as yet as It's away getting serviced but I find the material to be very thin and its on the short side for my not very thick wrists (I tried it on another watch, my beater Wenger) Its about 265mm long which is a little shorter than others I've seen on the net. I will still try it on my Sub to see If I like it though. Greg |

In the summertime I wear my 5513 on a nato from Corvus called the real bond nato, it's a bit more expensive (around $40 US) but looks good. I think the website is corvuswatch.com, you can get it as a zulu or a nato.

That strap looks really good on your 5513. Sometimes i think it is worth spending that bit extra money in order to get a better product. After being unable to find any nice nato or zulu straps at the start of the day, i now have too much choice and don't which one to choose, i'm spoilt for choice

That's one of the advantages of Rolex wanting AD's to have authorized watch repairers to do services. It's worth the gamble i would think. After moving to the new service centre the turnaround on services has gone up dramatically, but it is slowly coming down now

Purchased a Bond style strap with PVD hardware (the only place I could find the PVD hardware), and after about 2 weeks the "PVD" hardware started to fade to bare metal. I contacted customer service and they replied with the following: "Dear Mark, Thank you for your email. We can send a replacement. But please note that we don't give any warranty against wear and tear. We sell some 50k OCD straps since we intrude.ce them and never get a complain on self fading of our product. Let me know your order and address so I can resend." I let them know that I appreciated their customer service and sent my address. About 6 weeks later and still nothing received. They said I must have given them a bad address, despite it was the same address used for the original purchase. Sure its only 20 bucks, but the fact they basically used that fact as an excuse kinda annoyed me. Had to vent. |
