Known dealers who come through time again such as Justrolexes, DavidSW, Bodypump, and Mosco come to mind.
When you buy through online dealers such as Authenticwatches, etc. your warranty is not with Rolex, but through the retailer. You have no idea of the quality of their watchmakers. It also will not come with the warranty/chronometer certificate which impacts resale value.

I recommend starting with the TRF folks. If you can't find what you want, there are plenty of other sellers. For someone who is a bit of a watch or Rolex nut, you can buy from a lot of different sources, safely. But, if you just want to buy a nice Rolex, finding a good seller who is an expert is the way to go. The TRF allows you to find great sellers who can be your expert.

Agree with all the previous comments regarding warranty. However, if you decide to go with an internet dealer, I highly recommend Alan Furman or Bernard Watch. Furman mainly sells new Rolexes. Bernard has pre owned as well as a few that have never been used. Between the two I think Furman has better prices.

Buy from TRF here but do your research on the sellers, even on TRF.

Your best deals are going to come from the good guys here in the for sale section. Online, I've bought from Bernard Watch, Swiss Luxury, and DeMesy, with no problems.

I recommend DavidSW here on the forum. I have purchased from Alan Furman, everything went well, the price is just higher than most of the sellers on the forum.

DAVID SW. I had the opportunity to speak with David about a watch I was interested in recently. He is polite, knowledgeable and very professional. I would not hesitate to recommend him or make my future purchases from him.

In the last month I've purchased a Rolex & a Breitling and spent literary hours before I pulled the trigger researching prices from online dealers,TRF dealers and AD's in Canada and the US.
After all was said and done I got the best deal at home in Canada. AD's here in Canada seem to be willing to deal and give very good discounts and by the time you factor in the cost of wiring money, shipping etc. it was less money to buy it here. And what piece of mind you have knowing that after spending several thousand dollars on a watch that its real and if something goes wrong with it you just bring it back to the store. And there is the other issue of wiring thousands of dollars to someone I have never met. I realize there are honest dealers with great references but I just can't bring myself to wire money to someone I've never met. Get your best price online then go to your local Rolex AD and tell them you can buy the watch for that amount of money somewhere else,if they won't match it start calling or sending emails out to AD's across the country and you will get a deal as good as or better than anything online with a lot more piece of mind. You should easily be able to get between 20-25% discount or even more if your lucky and don't forget there is only 5% taxes in Alberta if you look there. Check with other TFR members to see what they paid for the watch your looking for. A TFR member in one instance helped me purchase a watch from his AD in Vancouver and the price was better than any online dealer. Good luck and PM me if you need any more help. Dave |

Time and time again we have heard of horror stories of unscrupulous on line grey dealers with superb looking websites and a superior low price for certain watches.
And often times something is missing from the watch you ordered/purchased. Want to return the Rolex you bought? You'll have to go to court to battle it out with those guys. If you are new to this Rolex thing it is best to buy from you local AD. Go visit several AD's and feel out the discount rate. Still feeling uneasy about the MSRP then you'll do a lot better by looking at the FS section here. You will definitely see drastic discounts offered. Big time sellers here offer the REAL Deal. They would not tarnish their reputation by misrepresenting what they sell. Good Luck in your search. |

So far I have only bought from authorized dealers, and would normally be very reluctant to buy on-line. However I would not hesitate to buy my next Rolex from some of the reputable sellers here on TRF.
