Sea Dweller

My wife currently has a sea dweller and I'm thinking of suprising her by upgrading to a Deep Sea. I'm giving some thought to selling the sd to pay for the Deep Sea. What is the likely resale value of a Sd in good condition. Thanks.

Alot will depend on the year and the condition of the watch, however has your wife actually tried on the new Deep Sea. Some males find this watch a bit big.

Deep Sea

My wife currently has a rolex sea dweller and I'm thinking of suprising her by upgrading to a Deep Sea. My only concern is that the face might be a bit big for a women's wrist. What is everyone's opinion. Photos would be helpful.

Thanks

Well myself would keep your SD both watches have the same basic movement except for the in-house escapement parts. The only upgrade is maxi dial, clasp, size, hefty price and a depth rating which no man will ever use.

Not sure if that's really an upgrade.

Be careful, if this is a surprise it might backfire

Me, I'm 6'4"@200lbs and found the DSSD a bit on the large size for everyday use, my vote is stick to the SD. The other option is get a great deal ~3850 for a white dial explorer and give her some variety, might even cost about the same but she now has options

Dude... careful w/ the DSSD - it's a really big watch and top-heavy. It's uncomfortable unless you have it on tight - and most women like to wear their watches loose.

This might really backfire on you.

It's not only the size of the dial at 44mm with regards to this watch, it also the depth of the case which is quite thick can be a problem for some. Awesome watch but you really should test drive one first. At least try it on.

Don't think the Deep Sea is an upgrade.
