Rolex warranty card

I have a Rolex AD book, it was published in 1999, and I read for ten dollars you can get a replacement warranty card if it is lost. This would only apply to watches still under factory warranty. Is this practice still being done today?

IIRC, in '99 Rolex did not use "cards" as they do today. They issued paper certificates. Regardless, the selling AD is usually expected to apply for any lost warranty credential to validate that serial # was sold vs. "misappropriated".

My guess is the warranty card can be replaced for any new watch in inventory before they are sold. AD's like every other retailer aren't perfect and can lose accessories. Just guessing.

For an AD yes. For the end user I doubt it.
