How do the DSSD and SubC look on me, guys?

Evening all

Some of you already know I've been warming up to the DSSD so today I went to Time2 to try it on again to make sure

Now this time Time2 also had a SubC so I thought why not

To be fair the DSSD is an amazing watch - but what do you reckon of the look/feel of it on my wrist? Too big? Just right?

What about the Sub C?

When the Sub C is on your wrist you almost want to ask "So, when is your watchmaker going to finish cutting down the width of the lugs?"

I like the Sub on your wrist better than the DS.

There are 4 things I do not like about the SubC:

1. The fat lugs.
2. The fat crown shoulders.
3. The bezel pearl sticks up too much.
4. The longer length of the clasp assembly.

I like the look of the Sub C on your wrist better. It looks more in proportion with your wrist, IMO.

Personally, I like the DSSD on you. I bet the Sub would be a much more natural daily wearer overall though. Who knows though, I've read quite a few posts from DSSD owners who wear them everyday in comfort. Go with your gut :)

Both look good on your wrist.....
I guess it comes down to your opinion and how much cash you're willing to part with!

Both looks good.

The Sub could be easier to wear more regularly, but then you also have enough on the bench in case the DSSD needs a rest.

Either way, you cannot go wrong....

While i think you can pull them all off well, I prefer the Sub and the GMT on your wrist. They just seem to be more proportionate to the size of your wrist. Wish I had such a problem.

I prefer the Sub C. I find the Deepsea much too thick to be comfortable for me. Sub C is more versatile, IMO.

is it just me or does the dssd look funny from the side because the watch is such a beast then you see the taper of the bracelet and it looks like it doesn't belong? it should have a thick bracelet all the way around

Dude... the DSSD looks GREAT on you. I would go with the DSSD and not the run-o-the-mill SubC. No offense Sub owners.

I am one of them.

They both look great on you. Diameter wise there aren't any issues with the DSSD on you, so if you can get over the height of the thing then go for it!

DSSD looks good on you, anders, no worries there. you pull it off. man, it's one tall watch, though....

you're going to have to think long and hard before going subc, as you've been pretty anti-ridiculously fat lugs for some time.

The DSSD is too big for me, but it seems that you can pull it off, so go get one and enjoy it for me too! And make sure to give us a good report on how you like it!

The 116610 looks good to, and would be my personal choice.

Best,

A

DSSD. You're wrist looks about the same as mine. I found that after a couple of days the thickness wasn't an issue (unlike when you first try it on), now I actually like the watch's bulk, and with the glidelock you always have a perfect fit so the weight doesn't become a problem. As with other owners I never really notice the writing on the ring lock, IMO in real life it is a better looking watch than the sub.

that's right Rob - i want something different, i don't think the SubC will be different enough as i already have a 16610... i really love the look/feel of the DSSD but i wonder if it's disproportionate to my wrist...

it is as if the bracelet gets really thin towards the clasp.. don't think you'd risk the bracelet breaking..

yeah it'd be a nice complement to the rest of my collection for sure. the SubC is too similar to my 16610 and also those lugs....

I'd you can pull off DeepSea, which I think you can without a doubt, I say go for DS!

I love the more modern Rolex pieces as well as the vintage, but I'm sold on the DS.

That being said, can never go wrong with a Submariner either. I wear my Sea-Dweller every day with a smile on my face. ; )

You have the wrist for it.......

Once it's sized correctly, the issue of height disappears, trust me!

mate i bloody hate those fat lugs. they just look weird!! friday afternoon solution but it's less offensive when on the wrist.. i still want to get an angle grinder out though and trim them...

that's it mate... it needs to be resized properly and really 225 grams isn't that much... like a packet of butter. might strap a block of Lurpak to my wrist tomorrow to see if it's too heavy for me

Exactly Rob - when on the wrist i can easily see both sides of the bracelet so it's a good fit. and yep it does need to be sized....
